Confusion over NVQ standards

Confusion over NVQ standards

The writer concerned about the difference in questions for the new standards at NVQ level 3 compared with the previous awarding body has every right to be worried - as do we who have to deliver levels 1 and 2, where a similar difference in the questions also exists (Letters, Caterer, 2 February, page 20).

Each awarding body has always had a different set of questions from each other and different interpretation of the standards, but never before have they been so marked or different.

People 1st has clearly not made its intentions known to the awarding bodies, and should consider taking a leaf from other Sector Skills Councils, which check their awarding bodies' questions before publication.
