Contract caterer Elior wins Scottish rugby ground Murrayfield deal

Contract caterer Elior UK has been awarded a three-year deal, worth an estimated £3m, to cater at Murrayfield, Scotland's national rugby stadium.

The contract, previously run by Sodexo, will see Elior's Azure division providing all aspects of catering at the 67,000 capacity stadium in Edinburgh, ranging from snacks for spectators through to hospitality packages and conferences, both on and outside of matchdays.

The deal, which follows a tender process initiated by Scottish Rugby in autumn last year, is the largest in a series of Scottish stadia wins for Azure.

In the past 12 months, it has agreed extensions to all its current Scottish contracts including Glasgow Rangers, Hearts and Hibernian.

Eamon Hegarty, Scottish Rugby's finance director, said: "Azure proved throughout this process it has the knowledge and experience we require to deliver the standard of catering expected at a venue as iconic as Murrayfield."

Adam Elliott, Azure managing director, added: "This is a fantastic endorsement of the hard work of the Azure team in Scotland.

"We are delighted to have been appointed and look forward to working in partnership with Scottish Rugby over the next three years and beyond."

Elior UK bought a majority share in Azure in 2004 from Charlotte Ventures, before purchasing the outstanding 49% shareholding last August.
