Crown Group's Venue Reservations sees 2014 surge in bookings
Venue Reservations, the venue-finding and events planning arm of the Crown Group, has announced a surge in confirmed bookings and enquiries for January.
The company announced a year-on-year increase of 36% in confirmed bookings for January 2014, which builds on the year-on-year increase of 31% seen in January 2013 on 2012 figures.
In 2013 the group predicted an increase in business and hired extra staff to commit to the planned expansion, which has continued over the past 12 months. Enquiries were said to have been mainly for corporate and private events, but the confirmed business was centred on Christmas parties.
The company has also predicted continued increased growth for the rest of the year.
Emma Hutter, customer services manager for Venue Reservations (pictured), commented: "It seems that many of our 2013 clients are returning early to ensure they have this years' date is pinned-down in the diary."
Venue Reservations is the venue-finding and events arm of the Grown Group, which was itself founded in 1978 by a group of chefs. The group's brands also include Kudos and Piggotts. It also owns the two-Michelin-star, five AA-Rosette Midsummer House restaurant in Cambridge, which is led by chef-patron Daniel Clifford, who is also creative director for Kudos and a business partner in Crown Group.
As well as seeing growth in the past two years, in 2012 Venue Reservations also launched an apprenticeship scheme aimed at giving young people the chance to gain corporate, sales and event planning experience.
