Cucina wins £3m of school food contracts

Education caterer Cucina has won two new school contracts worth a combined £3m over five years.

The first is a three-year deal, with an option to extend for a further two years, at Chislehurst & Sidcup Grammar School in Sidcup. Cucina will provide foodservices to the school's 1,331 pupils from August.

Estimated turnover for the five-year period is over £1.6m.

Cucina has also been awarded a second three-year deal, plus two-year extension, at St Catherine's Catholic College in Bexleyheath, Kent, a secondary school with 1058 pupils aged 11 to 16.

This contract, which also begins in August 2013, has an estimated turnover of £1.4m over the five-year period.

Sam Davies, Cucina's director of food, said: "We are very careful in the contracts that we target.

"Both of these schools share our high aspirations and we're very much looking forward to working with them in educational partnership."
