Cucina wins school deals worth £2.2m

School catering firm Cucina Restaurants has won two new contracts worth over £2.2m.

The first is at Sponne School in Towcester, Northants. Cucina will provide catering services on a five-year contract to the 1,242 pupils at the state school from September 2012. The estimated turnover for the five-year period is in excess of £1.2m.

The second is at Glyn School in Ewell, Surrey. The three-year contract at the school for boys, with 1,680 pupils on the roll, has an estimated turnover of £963,131.

Cucina director Sam Davies said: "We're delighted to be bringing our quality restaurant standard food to two new UK schools. Cucina is very focused in the contracts that it targets, and we're looking forward to our future partnerships with these schools, both of which share our high standards and aspirations."

The new contracts will bring the total number of Cucina school restaurants to 38.
