Delaware North's UK business reports £900,000 pre-tax loss despite turnover growth
Delaware North Companies UK has reported a pre-tax loss of £914,809 despite annual turnover growth of 21% for the year ended 31 December 2013.
The company reported annual turnover had increased to £55.9m for the period, up from £46.2m the previous year.
Accounts filed at Companies House revealed that while the caterer had achieved a loss for 2013, it was 30% lower than the year before when it filed a pre-tax loss of £1.3m.
Delaware North delivers catering and hospitality at Wembley Stadium under the company name Delaware North Companies (Wembley). The annual turnover for 2013 was £27.7m, up 37.5% from £20.1m year-on-year. Pre-tax loss fell from £824,250 to £279,885.
The division Delaware North Companies (UK) Hospitality Services operates at Arsenal's home ground the Emirates and IPro Stadium, home to Derby County Football Club, and saw its pre-tax loss rise from £204,452 in 2012, to £736,182 last year. Annual turnover was £16m (2012: £15m).
The company's travel business, operating under Delaware North Companies (UK) Travel Hospitality and Retail Services, reported 5.8% growth in annual turnover to £9.5m (2012: £8.9m), while a pre-tax loss of £346,673 in 2012 was pulled back to a marginal pre-tax profit of £8,860.
