Dine Contract Catering snaps up Midlands-based operator
Independent caterer Dine Contract Catering has snapped up Midlands-based Quartet Catering, adding 13 sites to its national portfolio.
The Warrington-based caterer, led by managing director ian Cartwright, currently has nearly 170 sites in the business & industry (B&I), care, and further education sectors, and 950 employees.
B&I caterer Quartet, which turned over £1.8m in 2013, brings a 60-strong workforce to the Dine payroll under TUPE.
The current management is expected to remain in place, while the Quartet branding will remain for the foreseeable future.
Commenting on the acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, Cartwright said: "Quartet Catering's portfolio in B&I has strong synergies to our own.
"The acquisition will give Quartet's customers and staff some significant benefits in line with our operating ethos including the implementation of our health and wellness programme to help drive awareness of the value of employees making informed choices across their eating habits.
"We will also be introducing personalised training programmes for all staff, to drive motivation, progression and opportunity."
