Drake & Morgan trials mobile ordering
London bar and restaurant group Drake & Morgan is to trial the mobile ordering system Q App at The Drift in Heron Tower, Bishopsgate, from 10 February.
The application aims to enable The Drift's customers to avoid queues at the bar by allowing them to browse the full menu, place orders and pay from their mobile phone throughout the evening - or even prior to arriving at the bar.
The customer is alerted when their order is ready to pick up from the Q App ‘Fast Lane' or have it delivered to their table.
Q App is also expected to provide insight into customers' behaviour, as well as allowing cross-promotion and up-selling of additional products.
Jillian MacLean, managing director of Drake & Morgan (pictured), said: "We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of the bar scene and trialling Q App is all part of this process. Our bars can become extremely busy and our handmade cocktail selection is very popular - any way to alleviate the queueing process will not only increase customer satisfaction but it will also increase productivity. It makes good business sense".
Serge Taborin, CEO of Q App, said: "Q App's adoption by major hospitality brands continues to gather pace and we are delighted to have been selected by Drake & Morgan, one of the leading innovators in the hospitality industry. It is another great stamp of approval for the quality of Q App proposition and our deployment model that requires no up front or ongoing investment by the venues, while providing a suite of commercial benefits and instant access to a large number of users that already have Q App installed on their phones when they walk through the door."
The Drift and Q App's trial partnership will run for three months and should this prove successful it will be rolled out throughout the Drake & Morgan group including The Folly, The Happenstance and its latest venue, opening in February, The Fable.
