Giedrius Zilinskas has beaten over 4,000 candidates in 63 countries to be named Domino's International Store Manager of the Year.
The manager of Domino's in Rathmines, Dublin, was chosen for his determination, performance and the high standards of food safety, quality and service that he achieves on a daily basis.
The winning store achieved a 98% average throughout the pizza delivery group's quarterly audits. Zilinskas also chose to deliver pizzas to the homeless over the last two Christmas seasons.
The award was presented at a special ceremony in Las Vegas. Zilinskas said: "It is a once in a lifetime feeling, what you always dream about. I am shocked and amazed."
During his acceptance speech, Zilinskas described rising through the Domino's ranks. Arriving in Ireland from Lithuania in 2005, he started as trainee manager at a store in Dundrum, gradually working his way up to deputy manager. He became store manager in 2006 and was promoted to Rathmines in the position, where he remains today.
During his award acceptance, he proposed to Dovile Bumbulyte, his long-term girlfriend who moved to Ireland with him in 2005.
