Prepared ambient white sauces for the UK food service market are now available from Unilever Foodsolutions as part of the Knorr Collezione Italiana range. The two new sauces - the cheese and bacon Knorr Carbonara and the wild mushroom Knorr Funghi di Bosco - are simply heated and poured over the pasta, saving time and allowing chefs of varying skills to serve up consistent results. The sauces are sold in cases that provide three 1.5kg packs and contain a total of 48 portions, at a starting cost of £13.80 per case. The range also incorporates two new varieties of dry pasta with a 12-month shelf life that are supplied in 3kg packs. They are the Knorr Fresh Egg Garganelli, which is similar to penne with a quill-like end, and the spiral-shaped Knorr Linguine.
