Edwards & Blake adds four schools in first quarter of 2016
East Anglian contract catering firm Edwards & Blake has secured contracts at four new schools in the first quarter of 2016.
Copleston High School in Ipswich is the largest school to welcome the caterer, with more than 1,700 pupils and 300 staff. Edwards & Blake will provide breakfast, mid-morning snacks and lunch. Menus will feature a selection of hot and cold dishes along with Edwards & Blake's own street food range of wraps, pasta pots, salads and sandwiches.
The company has also started catering at three new primary schools: Cobholm Primary Academy and Stradbroke Primary Academy in Norfolk and Worlingham CEVC Primary School in Suffolk, serving more than 700 pupils and staff.
Adrian Cooke (pictured), director of sales and operations, said: "It has been an exciting and rewarding project to transform the food and facilities at Copleston High School. We worked closely with the school to provide a service that the pupils and staff really enjoy and we're looking forward to the next phase of our work redesigning the coffee shop and outside service point which the pupils will be fully involved with by voting for their favourite design."
Shaun Common, principal of Copleston High School, added: "We are delighted to welcome Edwards & Blake as our new school catering company. They have a superb record of providing high quality, value for money catering in schools across the region.
"We have already seen the positive impact across the school with many students commenting on the excellent food being provided. We are also looking forward to the improvement to our facilities which will further enhance the catering experience of our students, staff and visitors"
The caterer now operates at nearly 80 schools in the East and South East of England. It employs more than 600 staff and has a turnover of over £15m with clients primarily in East Anglia, the Midlands and the South East.
