Independent caterer Edwards & Blake will continue to provide the catering for Bakkavor Pizza at its refurbished Holbeach facility for another five years.
The East Anglian foodservice firm celebrated the opening of its refurbished client restaurant at Bakkavor's chilled pizza manufacturing facility in Holbeach St Marks, Lincolnshire, last week.
The new staff restaurant facility design was a collaborative effort of both staff and management at Bakkavor Pizza and Edwards & Blake, and includes a refitted kitchen, a new server, additional counters and a refurbished seating area for staff.
The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, afternoon meals and evening meals from 7.30am until 1.30am for the 900 manufacturing and office staff at the Holbeach site. The menu includes a full English selection, pastries, fruit, porridge and yoghurts for breakfast. Lunch options include pasta pots and wraps alongside two to three freshly-cooked hot dishes. It also has a ‘Grab & Go Chiller' stocked with pre-filled breads, salad boxes, fruit salads, and a salad bar with fresh salads and homemade slaws.
Caroline Blake, director of Edwards & Blake said: "We're delighted to be working with Bakkavor Pizza at Holbeach to provide their catering for another five years and to be able to continue offering employees a broad selection of delicious and nutritious food through the day.
"We worked closely with Bakkavor Pizza to design the restaurant and to offer a cost-effective and dynamic service for the next five years. No one-size fits all; our mission is to provide a flexible and tailored approach with clients both for their facilities and their catering requirements."
Pippa Greenslade, HR director of Bakkavor, said: "Employee well-being is important to us at Bakkavor. By collaborating closely with Edwards & Blake we have been able to deliver a fantastic refurbishment to our employee canteen at Holbeach, provide a menu at subsidised rates which offers good quality, freshly made food, and now cater for both day and night shifts."
