Elior buys Italian contract caterer Gemeaz Cusin
The Elior group has bought major Italian contract caterer Germeaz Cusin in a deal that will boost its revenues in Italy to €800m (£655m).
Gemeaz Cusin, which was previously owned by private equity company Faberstone, generates annual revenue of around €300m (£246m) and has 6,000 employees working in 800 restaurants within the healthcare & seniors, education, business & industry and defence sectors.
Commenting on the acquisition, Gilles Petit, chief executive of the Elior Group, said: "We are delighted to welcome Gemeaz Cusin's teams into the Elior Group. This transaction is a perfect illustration of one of the key objectives of our strategy, namely to become a top-ranking player in all of the countries in which we operate".
Elior UK is part of the Elior Group, which operates across Europe with annual revenues of €3.6b (£2.94b).
