Elior extends Historic Royal Palaces deal

Digby Trout Restaurants has won a contract extension with Historic Royal Palaces (HRP), the charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court and Kensington Palace.

The Elior UK-owned heritage caterer will provide approximately ten restaurants and kiosks at the popular tourist sites in a two-year deal estimated to be worth £5m in annual turnover.

Restaurant locations will include the Orangery at Kensington Palace, the New Armouries at the Tower of London and the Tilt Yard at Hampton Court Palace.

Digby Trout will also provide event catering, including conferencing and evening functions for HRP.

Danny Homan, communication director for HRP said: "Digby Trout Restaurants has provided public catering at the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace and Kensington Palace for a number of years.

"After a strong performance for the last five years where all three palaces were placed under a single contract, HRP has agreed a two-year extension with Digby Trout up to September 2011."

The caterer won its original deal with the charity in 2004. At that point its existing individual contracts to provide catering at Kensington Palace and the Tower of London were amalgamated and Hampton Court, previously handled by rival Sodexo, included in a group deal.
