Elior picks up a seven-year deal at EDF
Elior UK has won a seven-year contract worth an estimated £17m-£21m to provide utility company EDF's staff with catering and hospitality services across the UK.
The deal, which will involve more than 100 Elior staff, will see the caterer operating at 24 sites under its Avenance business and industry brand. The contract will be operated with zero subsidy from the client.
The deal consolidates services currently provided by Compass Group's Baxter & Platts and Aramark, plus 13 new sites. Avenance will provide food sourced from local suppliers wherever possible and a menu based on seasonal produce.
Ray Hughes, senior contracts manager for EDF's Energy's Property Services, said: "We are extremely pleased with the appointment of Avenance, who will work with us to deliver ethical and sustainable catering services in 24 of our sites across the UK."
Elior chief executive Mike Audis added: "This important win gives us a great start to the year, which we aim to capitalise on as we move into 2008 with renewed vigour."
