Elior team wins ACE Ready Steady Cook! competition
Two chefs from Elior saw off competition from 15 other contract caterers to scoop the coveted Association of Catering Excellence (ACE) Ready Steady Cook! title.
Raj Sharma from Elior's News International site and Jo Baptiste from the caterer's contract at Schroder's Investment Bank made up the winning team at the final, held last night at Imperial College London.
Their menu comprised a main course of fillet of plaice, fondant potatoes, butternut squash purée and clam sauce and a dessert of Scottish pancakes with lemon curd and damson compote.
Mike Hilling and Jason Taylor-Bowers from Brookwood Partnership took second place, while Carl Williams and Daniel Moore from Lexington came in third.
The other teams to take part in the annual competition were from Accent Catering, Aspire, Bartlett Mitchell, BaxterStorey, Catermasters, CH&Co, Holroyd Howe, ISS Food & Hospitality, Just Hospitality, OCS, Restaurant Associates, Sodexo Prestige and Vacherin.
