ESS secures three North Sea contracts

ESS Support Services Worldwide Offshore has secured three contracts to provide catering on the newly constructed jack-up drilling rig Maersk Highlander (pictured), as well as two floatels.

The combined £3.5m contract for the provision of hotel and catering services, operated from the North Sea, will see ESS Offshore station more than 80 staff across both vessels.

Graham Singer, ESS food operation manager, said: "There are always challenges to overcome on such large vessels; however, we relish the opportunity.

"The strenuous work undertaken by offshore workers ensures our food offer has to be extremely nutritious while also being of good quality and taste. We are able to keep producing this high standard of service as a result of the hard work and experience of the ESS offshore teams."

Built this year in Singapore, the Maersk Highlander has a capacity to hold 150 personnel, which will include 18 ESS Offshore staff. The contract will run for three years.

ESS Offshore will be responsible for catering for all personnel in the canteen, mess room and recreational areas as well as the maintenance of the cabins and on-site gymnasium.
