Falkirk schools: Retender for catering services

Class 98 Ltd invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to participate in a re-tender exercise for the operation of catering services as part of the on-going overall PPP.

Services comprise the provision of morning service, school lunches, other hospitality and commercial activity outwith school hours and the maintenance of an existing Cashless catering system at Bo'ness Academy; Braes High School; Carrongrange School; Graeme High School; and Larbert High School (total school role of c6000 pupils) within the Falkirk area. It is expected that the contract will commence on 1st August 2010 and is being offered for a term of 5 years after which there will be a further re-tendering exercise.

Should a provider other than the incumbent be successful there is a potential TUPE transfer requirement of 35 persons.

Contractors wishing to be considered for this opportunity and who are prepared to provide firm proposals and pricing for the catering arrangement (including TUPE responsibility) for the above should respond either by letter or e-mail to:

Expressions of interest will be required to be lodged with Class 98 by 7th August 2009. All respondents will be required to complete a prequalification questionnaire which will be issued 7 days from the closing date with the formal tender issued to a selected list thereafter.

The issue of Prequalification questionnaires and formal tenders is at the sole discretion of Class 98. Class 98 is not obliged to accept the lowest or any tender.
