Foodservice Cateys 2013 open for entries

Following the success of the Hotel Cateys, which are now in their seventh year, we are delighted to be extending the well-respected brand further with the launch of a spectacular new awards night for the industry, the Foodservice Cateys.
We greatly respect the incredible work that the foodservice sector does in feeding the nation via many wide-ranging and wonderful kitchens and restaurants, and we look forward to bringing our usual rigour to judging the awards that will celebrate the best in the business. Now is the time to make your nominations.

The Foodservice Cateys will celebrate foodservice employees across the UK. They have been created to recognise and reward those individuals and teams that work tirelessly to make sure their business delivers an exceptional service day in, day out.
Every operation has outstanding achievers - the people these awards are designed to celebrate. Does your catering manager ensure that customers have what they want, when they want it, and at a competitive price? Does your head chef go out of his or her way to create new concepts, use local produce, and do they have the right systems and approaches in place to develop their brigade? Do you have a concept, product or service that illustrates innovation? Does a member of your sales team display the ability to combine original ideas with financial performance? If so, we want to hear about them.

Enter now! We look forward to receiving your nominations.

WHAT YOU THINK

"I think it is brilliant that Caterer and Hotelkeeper has decided to launch the Foodservice Cateys this year. Having our own awards evening enables the sector to recognise high-performing individuals from a broad spectrum of jobs. Many of these individuals do not normally get the opportunity to be in the spotlight, yet their contribution to the sector is significant. That's what these awards are all about."
William Baxter, chairman, Hospitality Action

"I am delighted to see that the foodservice industry now has a specialist Catey of its own in recognition of the unique talents and standards that are tirelessly displayed on a daily basis.
"I hope all will grasp this opportunity to gain the recognition from their industry colleges. Foodservice is a very incestuous industry and I'm sure you will recognise and nominate friends and colleagues from the present and past!"
Robyn Jones, founder, CH&Co

"For me the Cateys epitomise true recognition of a job well done, be it an individual or a company. To win a Catey
is something special. The foodservice sector is diverse and demanding, with some fantastically dedicated people
within it.
"The Foodservice Cateys are long overdue. Each one given will reflect the depth of talent in this sector and its great people, who are working closely with industry in taking on apprentices, developing the talent of tomorrow and pushing boundaries with food and service."
Nick Vadis, UK executive chef, Compass Group

David Mulcahy

"I am delighted to welcome this new and dynamic awards event for the foodservice industry. There are many great individuals as well as companies who truly go the extra mile every day to drive quality and the customer experience.
"The people at the heart of this are vital to success and deserve to be nominated and rewarded for their efforts.
The Foodservice Cateys will endorse these efforts at the highest level and ensure that one of the leading sectors
within the hospitality and catering industry is recognised appropriately.
"Recognition by one's peers is a great honour and I have
no doubt that these awards will develop into some of the most coveted accolades across the foodservice sector and beyond."
David Mulcahy, craft and food development director, Sodexo
