Foodservice Cateys: Compass and WSH win big

Compass Group and WSH were the big winners at tonight's Foodservice Cateys, picking up five and four awards each at a glittering awards dinner at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel.

Nick Vadis, executive chef at Compass, was named Chef of the Year, while the Group took home the CSR and Procurement awards.

Its executive dining brand Restaurant Associates was named Business & Industry Caterer of the Year while its reception services brand Rapport saw its team at Tower 42 win the Front of House Team of the Year category.

Meanwhile WSH's B&I brand BaxterStorey celebrated as Jamie Stevenson, general manager at law firm Burges Salmon, was awarded Catering Manager of the Year, and account manager Michele Ribaudo won the Regional Manager of the Year Catey.

BaxterStorey's Graham Eveleigh took the Training award and sister business Benugo was named Retail & Leisure Caterer of the Year.

The Outstanding Achievement winners were Leon co-founders Henry Dimbleby and John Vincent for their impressive work on the School Food Plan.

Meanwhile ISS Food & Hospitality and Kings Place Events were both double award winners at tonight's event attended by more than 500 guests from the foodservice and wider hospitality industry.

Comedian, actress and Great British Bake Off presenter Mel Giedroyc was on-hand to provide the entertainment and The Caterer's chosen charities to support were Hospitality Action and Springboard.
