G4S Facilities Management (G4S FM) has secured a three-year contract, worth £3.1m per year, with Bedfordshire and Luton Mental Health and Wellbeing Services.
The contract, which starts on 1 July with a three-month transition period, includes providing cleaning and catering services to 10 inpatient units.
Bedfordshire and Luton Mental Health and Wellbeing Services is part of the East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT), providing mental health services across the county. G4S FM already provides facilities management services to the trust at its John Howard Centre, the Lodge and Wolfson House properties.
Peter Jones, managing director for G4S FM, said: "Extending our services with ELFT is testament to the strong partnership between our organisations and the fantastic work of our teams on the ground. I have every confidence we will continue to deliver an excellent level of service and further develop our relationship with the trust."
John Wilkins, deputy chief executive of Bedfordshire and Luton Mental Health and Wellbeing Services, added: "It is critical we have the right partner organisations to ensure we provide our patients and staff with the best possible care at all times. One of our key objectives is to improve the quality of our community and inpatient services. The new contract with G4S FM will help support that goal."
