Gate Gourmet to resume talks with union

Gate Gourmet and trade union representatives will resume negotiations today, according to a statement from employment conciliation body ACAS.

ACAS said in a statement released earlier today:

"Following discussion in the early hours of this morning between Gate Gourmet, the TGWU and ACAS the parties have agreed to open discussions, without prejudice via the use of ACAS, in order to resolve the major difficulties they face."

It added the discussions would start immediately with a view to "reaching agreement".

Talks to re-instate 600 sacked staff from Gate Gourmet, which supplies BA's in-flight meals, collapsed yesterday.
