Glasshouse Hospitality to cater for the MoonWalk Edinburgh 2012
Scottish event caterer Glasshouse Hospitality has been appointed to handle the catering at charity event the MoonWalk Edinburgh 2012.
The East Lothian-based caterer will provide food service to the thousands of women and men who will power-walk the streets of Edinburgh on 9 June in aid of the breast cancer charity Walk the Walk.
According to Glasshouse Hospitality's managing director, Brian Galbraith, it's brilliant to be helping Walk the Walk again this year.
"This breast cancer charity does an incredible job in raising vital funds, with over £14m raised in Scotland to date," he said. "Our highly professional team will be working round the clock to deliver a first-class catering service at one of Scotland's biggest charitable events."
Nina Barough, Walk the Walk's founder and chief executive, added: "Walk the Walk has been working with Brian Galbraith since the MoonWalk arrived in Edinburgh seven years ago.
"The charity brings with them thousands of organic pasta and rice meals plus flapjacks for its walkers, so it is a huge logistical challenge to get it all served within a two-hour window before they all set off.
"Brian and his team not only make this look effortless, the team also runs the soup kitchen in the volunteer tent that caters for over 1,000 volunteers on the night. As the event director it is fantastic knowing that this is one area that I don't need to worry about."
