Golf De Barthe is an exceptional 9 hole golf facility, idyllically located in South West France, that is well known for the quality of course upkeep, the standard of design and high level of personal customer service.
This stunning, 2,813m, par 36, family built course opened in 1990, laid out over 55 acres with a natural spring, semi-automatic sprinkler and irrigation system and extensive ancillary practice facilities.
In March 2006 Golf De Barthe was acquired by the current owners who saw great potential to further develop the business and significantly increase membership and passing footfall by focusing on and investing in course maintenance, the introduction of a teaching and coaching service and increased exploitation of food and beverage trade through establishing the facility as a premium, destination café, bar and eatery.
Golf De Barthe benefits from having extensive ancillary land and outbuildings that are suitable for further commercial development. There is, subject to necessary consents, significant potential to develop up to a dozen gites/ duplexes complete with swimming pool and additional leisure facilities.
Work is currently underway on the development of up to 20 luxury houses on a further plot immediately adjacent to the course. Although this project is being undertaken independently of Golf De Barthe it is anticipated that on completion it will have substantial positive impact on membership, pay to play and food and beverage business.
In the 5 years since acquisition, primary focus has been on ensuring that the golf course is recognised as a premium facility in the marketplace. This essential objective achieved more recently attention has been turned to accommodation, the clubhouse and the development of the hospitality element of the business.
In this regard much has been achieved with the development of a luxury 3 bedroom owner's apartment on the first floor, the refurbishment of the clubhouse area on ground and the design and implementation of a high quality yet deskilled café, bar and food offering. The owners feel that there is outstanding unrealised potential in these recently completed initiatives and are happy to provide this intellectual capital to the purchaser of the business.
