Gordon Ramsay Scholar award 2006 launched

Entrants for the Gordon Ramsay Scholar Award are now being sought.

Now in its sixth year, this year's competition will take place at the BBC Good Food Show in November at the NEC.

Thirty working chefs will battle it out through a series of cook-offs over the course of the event, culminating in an eight-strong grand final.

Sister event, the Gordon Ramsay College scholar, will also have its grand final at the show.

Last year's winner was Alex Thain, now head chef at Edinburgh's Cosmo restaurant. This year's victor will head to Australia for a week at the Nepenthe Winery and a week at Restaurant Aria with matt Moran in Sydney.

The closing date is Monday 31 July. Entry forms are available at www.gordonramsay.com or can be requested on 020 7592 1360.
