HOSPA Christmas awards winners announced
Whitbread Hotels & Restaurants and the St Ermin's hotel in London were among the major winners at the annual HOSPA Christmas awards presented to the hospitality industry's finance, revenue management and IT professionals today.
Held at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London, and attended by 300 guests, a celebratory lunch saw the presentation of awards for a company's commitment to professional development, as well as to individuals, both professionals and students.
Whitbread was named Corporate Employer of the Year 2012 within the Company Commitment to Professional Development category, with St Ermin's receiving the same award as the SME Employer of the Year 2012.
Both businesses were honoured for their exemplary track record, willingness to train and lead their staff, total dedication to the hospitality industry, and respect they command within the sector.
The other award winners included:
• Hospitality Finance Professional, sponsored by PKF - Adolf Schauer, financial controller, the Cavendish London
• Hospitality Revenue Management Professional, sponsored by Infor - Clinton Campbell, group revenue manager, Apex Hotels
• Hospitality IT Professional, sponsored by FourteenIP - Kate Roberts, senior director information resources central services, Marriott Hotels
• Special HOSPA Award for Outstanding Services to BAHA and its Successor HOSPA - Mark Lightbound, director of finance at Coombe Abbey hotel, near Coventry, and Lumley Castle Hotel, near Durham (both part of the No Ordinary Hotel Group), who is retiring from his voluntary role as BAHA, then HOSPA, treasurer after 18 years' service
