Hospitality 2007 to host technology conference
A conference to analyse the crucial role technology plays in the industry will be held at Hostec Marketplace, the IT-focused exhibition that's part of Hospitality 2007.
Staged at the Birmingham NEC on 23 January, the event has been designed to bring together senior executives from key industry players, including McDonald's and Premier Travel Inn, to discuss the new technology likely to change the face of hospitality.
Confirmed speakers Ivan Brooks, chief information officer at McDonald's, and Siobhan Lawler, head of hotel systems at Whitbread and Premier Travel Inn, will speak about how the key IT issues affect regulation, security and remaining competitive.
These speakers will be followed by roundtables, held over lunch, where each table will be headed by a topic expert who will lead a discussion. Conference attendees will be encouraged to pick a table with a topic that is of interest to them and prepare questions in advance.
In the afternoon, Paramount Hotels chief executive Charles Prew will deliver the keynote speech, discussing ideas such as using technology to eliminate check-in/check-out, changes in customers' buying patterns, revenue management and revolutionising the way in which the guest is served in the future.
There will also be a tour of the Hostec Marketplace, where more than 60 leading suppliers will be demonstrating technology including front-desk booking systems, table ordering and Wi-Fi for the duration of the Hospitality show.
The conference, aimed at senior IT decision-makers in the hospitality industry, includes a Continental breakfast, lunch and an evening cocktail party.
