Hospitality 2011 new products preview

More than 300 suppliers will be touting their wares at Birmingham's NEC between 24 and 26 January 2011. Product Zone previews some of the new lines that will be on view at Hospitality 2011.

EQUIPMENT

CLASSEQ
Cesa Innovation Zone - Stand 562

Eau de Vie - a branded, eco-friendly bottled water package -makes its debut in Birmingham next month. It allows operators to bottle their own fresh still or sparkling filtered water on-site and is based around a SilverSix filtering system that removes the impurities that affect the flavour and smell of mains water before it is chilled. The package includes front-of-house water dispensers, bottles and flasks and backroom wash racks, carriers and rack dollies.

CLIFTON FOOD RANGE
Stand 1175

Kitchens with limited space are the target customers for a variation on Clifton's popular 28-litre capacity sous-vide bath, which places the controls on the narrow end to reduce its counter-top footprint to just 350mm in width. The new version uses the same accurate temperature-control systems and comes with a stainless-steel tray, a front-positioned drain tap and an easy-grab, lift-off lid.

DAWSON
Cesa Innovation Zone - Stand 562

The world's first pass-through corner rack washer, a money-saving hood washer and the latest Lainox Heart X specification combi-oven take pride of place on the Dawson stand. The two Comenda Eco 2 washers include the fully-automated AC2A corner rack conveyor washer, which can wash up to 1,800 dishes an hour in a small footprint of just 1,250mm x 1,250mm x 1,430mm (H).The steam condenser and heat recovery system built into the Comenda LC411CRC hood washer can slash 11%, or up to £262, off annual energy bills, as well as reduce water use by 50%, rinse aid volumes by 16% and detergent consumption by 12%.

ECOPURE WATERS
Stand 1249

EcoPure, which has been supplying water filtration systems to the hospitality industry for 19 years, will launch One Green Bottle, the first consumer-branded sustainable drinking water that can be produced in-house. The reusable bottles, available in various sizes, are made from 50% reusable glass and are designed to help restore revenue lost to the current trend for drinking tap water. Tap water is purified by EcoPure's seven-stage filtration system, which involves natural earth ceramic filters and UV light, and can be served in still or sparkling formats.

EQUIPLINE
Stand 550

Newcomers on the Equip Line stand include the low-level MD60 three-shelf hot food merchandiser - a squat, 600mm-wide version of the model it sells to Pret a Manger and Greggs, for premises that cannot accommodate the full-size cabinet. It offers an optional top-mounted purchase well for ambient impulse snacks and a bottom drawer to hold drinks, condiments or serviettes. Also new is Polyscience's SousVide Professional heater-circulator which clamps to any size of tank to heat and stir up to 30 litres of water and hold it at a set temperature, accurate to within one-tenth of a degree.

FRIEDR. DICK
Stand 646

The long, sharp knives with specially polished edges - available in 28cm and 25cm lengths - are designed to lie directly on the bone so even novices can cut wafer-thin slices. They are available in three types - high-quality forged Premier Plus models, stamped-out Superior models, and economical ProDynamic models with solid plastic handles.

The NEC will provide the first airing of Vivreau's new Mini Bottler, a cut-down version of its in-house V3 Table Water Bottling System for venues that require smaller volumes of purified, chilled water. The Mini Bottler can produce up to 80 litres of still or sparkling water per hour which is served in Vivreau's carafe-style 425ml and 750ml designer bottles. Its frosted blue facia and LED lighting make it suitable for front-of-house use, but an under-counter version is also available.

WRAPEX
Stand 950

Star of the stand will be the new Prowrap Premium range of clingfilm and aluminium foil which is described as a "commercial kitchen heavyweight". The new line is thicker and stronger than standard films and foils, easier to handle and less prone to tearing or scrunching on the roll. Wrapex will also showcase the recently-launched Speedwrap clingfilm and foil dispenser (see equipment on page 106) which is claimed to be the smallest, most user-friendly on the market.

This South African company has been supplying bespoke, hand-painted tablecloths that require no laundering to restaurants around the world for 13 years and has now launched into the UK market. Designs by artist Carmel Stoch are painted on to 100% raw bull denim cotton, which is then given a stain- and liquid-resistant coating, so the cloths only need to be wiped down to clean. The company's "functional art" also extends to placemats, runners, overlays, chair cushions and aprons.

VILLEROY & BOCH
Stand 1030

The new Cera Black and Modern Grace tableware collections will take centre stage on the V&B stand. WMF
Stand 830

Versatility is the key to two new ranges from WMF. Additions to its Coffee Culture line of cups, glasses and accessories - made from a mix of German hard porcelain, Cromargan stainless steel 18/10 and glass - offer improved functionality and interchangeability. Adding stainless-steel elements to porcelain creamers or glasses can transform them into lidded condiment holders, egg cups with spoon holders, bud vases or tea light holders, for instance. The new line-up of German-engineered Vitalis Pro chafing dishes are designed for use with induction systems but can be fitted with legs for heating by electrical element or fuel as well.
