Hospitality Action London to Paris Cycle Challenges raises £40,000
Hospitality Action's second London to Paris Cycle Challenge has raised almost £40,000, the industry charity has announced.
The event took place last weekend, with 21 well-known industry names involved, including Andrew Stembridge, managing director of Chewton Glen and Cliveden House, and winner of the Hotelier of the Year 2010 Catey; Danny Pecorelli, managing director at Exclusive Hotels; and Ashley Palmer-Watts, head of Dinner by Heston Blumenthal.
William Baxter, chairman of Hospitality Action, also joined the team. He said: "We cyclists were tested to the limit mentally and physically, but with an unflinching team spirit we carried on. The commitment and dedication of the team to complete this incredibly tough challenge and raise an outstanding amount of money for our industry charity is truly amazing and I was very proud to be a part of it."
Hospitality Action is a charity which helps support past and present hospitality staff who have fallen on difficult times. Last year, it helped over 1,500 people and spent over £400,000 as part of its charity work.
