Hospitality Action Sparkle Ball winners announced

Hospitality Action Sparkle Ball 2009 saw key industry figures and organisations pick up awards on Wednesday night for their role in supporting the charity.

Richard Ball of Calcot Manor, who won Caterer's Hotelier of the Year Award in 2006 was awarded the Ambassador Award for having played "a key role in promoting Hospitality Action's cause in the past twelve months."

Robert Cook, chief executive of Malmaison and Hotel du Vin picked up the President's Award, while the Ark Foundation's Social Responsibility Award for the organisation which had taken a proactive approach to educating employees in the dangers of alcohol and substance abuse went to the Soho House Group, with HR director Duncan Swanson picking up the award.

Hospitality Action's Heroes Award went to Dave Mansbridge, of the north west regional board, who "stood out this year as a true hero".
