Hospitality firms enter Sunday Times top 100 list
Two hospitality companies have made their debut on the Sunday Times list of the UK's best 100 employers.
The rundown, published in this week's issue, saw fast-food chain Nando's enter at number 33 and independent contract caterer Holroyd Howe on the list at number 94.
A Nando's spokeswoman said the company's family ethos had helped to clinch its place. In February the company took 150 restaurant managers to the carnival in Brazil.
Rick Holroyd, joint managing director of Amersham-based caterer Holroyd Howe, said: "We're bowled over by the news. It's a testament to how we manage to keep our personal touch across 88 sites." The company employs 740 people.
Online hotel reservations company Active Hotels appeared in 55th place in the Sunday Times list of the top 100 small UK companies to work for. Adrian Currie, chief financial officer of the Cambridge-based company, which employs 95 staff, said: "Our employees are the main reason for our business success."
