How to… be great at an interview
  • Always research the company beforehand.
  • Be smart, dress appropriately and look "crisp".
  • Be on time and smile when you arrive.
  • Shake hands confidently (make sure your hands are dry).
  • Maintain eye contact
  • Find some common ground with the interviewer - it will improve your chances.
  • Be enthusiastic and positive; don't knock former employers.
  • Prepare a list of questions; ask what the next stage will be.
  • Don't dwell on remuneration and package details.
  • Earn brownie points with a follow-up letter.
