Ian Neill is the new Company of Cooks chairman

Las Iguanas chairman Ian Neill has joined caterer Company of Cooks as chairman.

The restaurant industry veteran joins the business with more than 40 years experience, primarily in the casual dining sector.

Also the current chairman of Peach Factory and non-executive director of Jamie's Italian, Neill has previously held roles with PizzaExpress, Sweeney Todd, Prima Pasta and until recently Wagamama.

Founded in 1996 by Mike Lucy, Company of Cooks won its first contract with English Heritage at Kenwood House.

The business has since grown to achieve an annual turnover of around £30m, with flagship sites such as the Royal Opera House, the Royal Horticultural Society, South Bank Centre and the Royal Parks.

Neill commented: "I am really excited to be joining Mike and his team. Company of Cooks has grown successfully due to its commitment to excellence in every aspect of its operation.

"The diverse nature of the Company of Cooks business model provides an enormous opportunity for growth."

Lucy added: "I have known Ian some time and I am very pleased that he has agreed to chair Company of Cooks. I believe his experience, strategic view and technical skills will help us achieve our goals and objectives in the medium and long term."
