Institute of Hospitality awards open to entries from students, trainees and managers

The hunt is on for the best students, trainees and managers in the hospitality industry as the Institute of Hospitality 75th Anniversary Awards opens for entries.

Three categories are available, namely the Highest Achieving Student or Trainee Award, which is open to all students or anyone who has recently graduated; The Outstanding Leadership Award - open to any particularly inspiring manager, and The Innovation in Management Award, which is open to anyone doing exceptionally well in a managerial role.

Prizes include stays, tours and meals at many of London's best restaurants and hotels, including dinner, bed and breakfast at The Goring hotel and a one-night suite including dinner, bed and breakfast at The Grosvenor.

There is also a stay plus dinner and a tour of the events kitchen at the Lancaster London hotel available; lunch or dinner for two at The Savoy; dinner for two at Rhubarb on the Kings Road; and dinner for two plus Cava and a bottle of wine at Ametsa, from Halkin by COMO.

Winners of the student award will also be rewarded with CV experience, as hotel booking company Avvio has donated two weeks' work shadowing with the digital marketing and revenue management teams at the group's HQ in Limerick, Ireland.

The winner will also receive a reference, return flights from the UK, all accommodation and meals.

Anyone wishing to enter should send a 250-word statement on why they should be considered, plus a reference from a manager, lecturer or mentor, before 31 October. All details can be found here.

Winners will be announced at the Westbury Hotel, Mayfair, on 20 November.

The professional body for individual and aspiring managers in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industries, the Institute of Hospitality is 75 years old, with members across 100 countries.
