Kudos-operated Gibson Hall first to get outdoor wedding licence

Part of the Crown Group, Kudos owns the Gibson Hall venue and runs its facilities management, marketing, sales and catering. It has capacity for 300 guests at a reception, and 280 for dinner, and has so far had 39 wedding bookings this year.

The Grade-I listed building has a patio, terrace area and garden, and is the only site in the City of London legally allowed to conduct wedding ceremonies outdoors.

Usually, under UK law, the legal portion of a wedding - the signing of the register â€' must take place under a permanent structure, although the blessings and other elements of the ceremony can take place outdoors.

Rebecca Hawkes, business development executive at Gibson Hall said: "We are thrilled to be in a unique position in the city. We look forward to working with all our wedding couples to help make their day truly memorable."

Kudos has high-profile catering deals across several public venues, including at MediaCity UK, Salford; the Brighton Centre, and the Harrogate International Centre, Yorkshire.
