Kudos secures Coronation Street contract
Foodservice company Kudos, part of the Crown Group, has won a £300,000 catering contract for the Coronation Street Tour in Quay Street in Manchester.
The contract has been signed for an initial six-month period, with an option to extend.
Kudos reportedly won the bid as ITV, and developer Continuum Leading Attractions, felt the offer demonstrated strong understanding of the ethos, brand and characters of the show. Kudos was praised for its creative offer, which included ideas for coffee shops and street food stalls.

Continuum Leading Attractions has developed the site into a full tourist attraction, with "Coronation Street - The Tour", offering visitors the chance to walk along the cobblestones of the genuine set. The set had been opened before - for The Granada Studios Tour, started in 1989 â' but this closed for good in 1999.
Jon Pryce, managing director of Kudos, said that the company had significant experience in providing catering in studios, which would allow the company to really reflect to the visiting public what life was like for the cast on set.
He added: "This is an amazing venue with lots of history and it's great to be part of the experience."
Foodservice company Kudos operates catering in a number of varied venues across the UK, including sports stadia, conference halls, exhibition centres and theatres. Recent deals include the five-year renewal of its Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge contract, a £10m deal at the Harrogate International Centre, and a £4.5m signing with the Brighton Centre.
