Levy Restaurants adds fine-dining restaurant at Edgbaston Stadium

Levy Restaurants UK has added a fine-dining restaurant at Edgbaston Stadium, the home of Warwickshire County Cricket Club.

Elegant Eat will offer tasting menus which draw on the season's harvest and local larder under the guidance of Edgbaston's head chef Dave Hill.

The venue will host a bi-monthly series of events to showcase the culinary expertise of the team at Edgbaston.

The inaugural event took place in mid-July and treated guests and local food writers to a five-course tasting menu. It comprised rabbit paired with pancetta to start, followed by crab with watermelon, horseradish, cucumber and crispy pork crackling.

Sirloin and oxtail accompanied by beetroot and watercress was served for the main course, while a chocolate and cherry dessert and a selection of local cheese rounded off the menu.

Claire Daniel, head of catering at Edgbaston, said: "The evening allowed our chefs to demonstrate their fine-dining credentials, wowing guests with a menu full of seasonal flavour and clever craftsmanship.

"It's a great way to launch our new restaurant and I am extremely excited for the next Elegant Eat evening."
