Lindley Group wins £40m Leicester Tigers contract

Contract caterer Lindley Group has been awarded a £40m deal by Leicester Tigers to provide catering at the Guinness Premiership rugby club's Welford Road ground.

Lindley, which specialises in stadium catering, has picked up a new 11-year contract for public and corporate hospitality at the site, which it has catered at since 2000.

The deal comes as Leicester Tigers start a £60m redevelopment of the ground, which will increase capacity from 17,500 to 30,000.

Under the terms of the new deal, Lindley is investing £1.25m in new kitchen facilities, which will be located in the new stand development.

David Clayton, managing director of Leicester Tigers, said: "We have very ambitious plans to expand the club's facilities over the next decade.

"Welford Road is already the biggest dedicated union club rugby stadium in the UK and catering will play an increasing role in enabling us to maximise potential use of the ground outside match days."
