Lindley Heritage and Malvern Theatres win Silver Food for Life Catering Mark
Lindley Heritage and its client Malvern Theatres has been awarded the Soil Association's Silver Food for Life Catering Mark.
The award is the first Catering Mark accreditation to be awarded to the caterer and West Midlands art centre Malvern is the first theatre to be recognised.
The Mark recognises the serving of fresh and healthy meals that only use sustainable fish and meat, which is Farm Assured.
Lindley first started working with Malvern in 2005, but the contract was extended for a further five-years in September 2011 in a deal worth £4m.
Lindley Heritage has since invested £50,000 in converting the Malvern Theatres Restaurant into a contemporary 80-cover dining area which was re-branded as the Scene Bistro.
Nic Lloyd, chief executive of the Malvern Theatres, commented: "It's very rewarding that our commitment to serving fresh and healthy meals made with local and organic ingredients has been recognised by the Silver Food for Life Catering Mark, and it really is a true accolade for Malvern Theatres to become the first theatre in the UK to receive this accreditation.
"We hope our customers will enjoy their meals all the more knowing that they are made with a selection of local and organic ingredients."
