Little Chef to appear at Boardmasters festival in bid to broaden appeal

Roadside diner business Little Chef has announced plans to set up a marquee at a beach music festival next month, as it attempts to revamp its image and appeal to a younger audience.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>

Little Chef will appear at the Boardmasters festival on 7-11 August in Cornwall, selling breakfast butties and cups of Yorkshire tea, as well as Italian coffee.

Employees of the firm will also distribute vouchers for its 78 restaurants around the country, encouraging festival-goers to experience the brand following the festival.

The business is up for sale again, after owner RCapital put it on the market in April this year, six years after rescuing it from administration.

The turnaround specialists are reported to have appointed KPMG to handle the process.

RCapital took control of Little Chef in 2007 and has since reduced it from 200 sites to 83.
