LOCOG to visit CESA Innovation Zone at Hospitality 2011 to focus on sustainability

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) will visit the CESA Innovation Zone at Hospitality 2011, which runs at the Birmingham NEC from 24-26 January 2011.

The London 2012 caterers are committed to purchasing foodservice equipment that will deliver high quality results in a sustainable way. The visit will focus on products that can fulfil these requirements, including energy efficiency.

The LOCOG officials will be accompanied by their project managers and contract caterers. "This is a real opportunity for catering equipment suppliers to argue their case direct with the decision makers for London 2012," said Keith Warren, director of CESA.

The Innovation Zone is a new initiative developed by CESA in conjunction with the Hospitality Show organisers, FreshRM. "The key aspect of the zone will be simplicity: booths are limited in size and exhibitors can show just one or two products, which must be innovative," explained Keith Warren. "LOCOG's agreement to visit the Zone is a big incentive to those companies who have focused their R&D on energy efficiency and sustainability."

Manufacturers and suppliers interested in exhibiting in the CESA Innovation Zone should contact Andrew Pantelli of FreshRM on +44 (0) 207 886 3055 or via www.hospitalityshow.co.uk. The cost to take a booth starts at £620 for CESA members (£800 for non-members). "We wanted to ensure that exhibiting in the Zone is an economic option that can benefit smaller ‘one product' companies as well as larger organisations," adds Keith Warren. The price includes shell scheme and lighting.

The Catering Equipment Suppliers Association (CESA) represents over 140 companies who supply, service and maintain all types of commercial catering equipment - from utensils to full kitchen schemes.
