Medirest wins a £5.7m contract at South Bristol NHS Community Hospital
Medirest, Compass Group's healthcare division, has won a £5.7m contract at South Bristol NHS Community Hospital.
The three-year deal will see Medirest deliver catering and support services, including cleaning, logistics, security, linen and laundry, waste management and mail room services.
Steven Cenci, managing director for Medirest, said he believed his firm was uniquely placed to deliver the breadth and quality of services required by the hospital, adding: "We look forward to a long and positive partnership."
Medirest will introduce its patient dining offer Steamplicity, which enables it to serve fresh, steam-cooked meals. Visitors and hospital staff will benefit from its DeliMarché café brand, which will serve Costa Coffee as well as a range of sandwiches, paninis, salads, jacket potatoes and pastries.
Ben Bennett, project director at NHS Bristol, said: "We were particularly impressed with the Steamplicity method for patient meals and with the quality and nutrition provided."
