More than 50,000 use TripAdvisor Business Listings to promote their properties online

Online review site TripAdvisor has announced that more than 50,000 accommodation providers are now generating more bookings through its business listings.

Launched in 2010, the TripAdvisor Business Listings aims to help hotels boost their number of guests through direct contact, special offers and mobile upgrades.

A number of major hotel companies - including Best Western, InterContinental Hotels Group and Wyndham Hotel Group, as well as thousands of independent hotels, have added the listing to their TripAdvisor page. As a result, according The Total Economic Impact of TripAdvisor's Business Listings study by Forrester Consulting Total Economic Impact, some hotels have converted up to $64 (£41) in incremental bookings through the product for every dollar spent.

Dorothy Dowling, Best Western international senior vice president marketing and sales, said the business listing had driven steady bookings to the company's preferred booking channel, bestwestern.com. "We've seen a significant return on our investment," she explained.

The 50,000 Business Listings subscriber milestone follows closely on the heels of another TripAdvisor milestone with the announcement, in December 2012, that more than 300 million people view TripAdvisor content on partner sites..
