Mount Charles expands beyond Northern Ireland with Exeter Airport contract
Belfast caterer Mount Charles Group has opened its first contract outside of Northern Ireland, with a multimillion-pound deal at Exeter Airport.
The company will invest £250,000 in the new venture, which sees Mount Charles named the exclusive food and drink provider at the site.
It will open a Fed & Watered bistro, its third to launch in the past year. Other branches are located at Belfast International Airport and the Obel building in the city. Turnover at the Exeter site is expected to top £10m
Mount Charles aims to have 10 Fed & Watered outlets up and running within the next two years and also plans to enter the Republic of Ireland market in the near future.
Mount Charles Group owner Trevor Annon said: "It was always an important part of our strategic plan to diversify into new markets and Exeter offers us huge potential in terms of growing the Fed & Watered brand.
"This tremendous gain will now open up opportunities for us to develop services within the regional airport market throughout the UK."
Exeter Airport managing director Matt Roach added: "I have been very impressed with the enthusiasm shown by the new Mount Charles team and we are looking forward to a very successful long-term relationship."
Exeter Airport currently has two cafés, a restaurant and a bar.
