Mount Charles facility at Belfast Airport receives £250,000 investment
The Causeway Lounge at Belfast International Airport, operated by caterer Mount Charles Group, has opened following a £250,000 refurbishment.
It was officially opened earlier this week by US Consul General Daniel Lawton, who commended the airport on making the investment to improve passenger facilities.
He said: "Belfast International Airport is a critical gateway for direct access to the US from Northern Ireland, as well as Great Britain and Europe. Transatlantic trade, tourism, and investment are vital to the prosperity of this region."
Cathal Geoghegan, managing director at Mount Charles, added: "We are absolutely thrilled with the newly renovated Causeway Lounge. At Mount Charles, customer satisfaction and quality of service is paramount and I know that we will afford passengers a pleasant and memorable experience before they jet of on their travels.
"It is apt that this major refurbishment has taken place during the Northern Ireland Year of Food and Drink and we are sure that customers will delight in the range of top quality food offerings provided in the wonderful new Causeway Lounge, as well as in the Fed & Watered restaurant which we operate in the main concourse."
Graham Keddie, managing director, Belfast International Airport, said: "The lounge provides the perfect platform for our incredible food producers to showcase their products to both a domestic and international audience."
Mount Charles went straight to the number one spot as a new entry in the 2015 Foodservice Growth report, compiled by AlixPartners and EP, after achieving 32.5% compound annual growth from a turnover of £25.5m.
