Mount Charles Group appoints director of catering
Mount Charles Group has appointed Leann Duffy as group director of catering as the firm's catering division targets growth of 20% in 2016.
Duffy joins the company from Marks & Spencer, where she spent more than three years in various roles including head of hospitality operations in Ireland. Her most recent role, as head of bakery operations, saw her manage 530 units across the UK and Ireland for Marks & Spencer's in-store hospitality department. She was previously the Ireland manager for Compass Group.
In her new role she will be responsible for the company's portfolio of catering, beverage and vending operations, which includes the Moy Park Group, Belfast International Airport and Ulster Rugby.
Duffy said: "I'm really looking forward to the challenge of this new role with the Mount Charles Group.
"It's a home-grown, local company that prides itself on offering a personal, tailored service and that's something that really appealed to me, as it's unique in a marketplace crowded with large multinational firms."
Cathal Geoghegan, managing director of the Mount Charles Group, added: "Our catering division has gone from strength to strength in the last 12 months and we've secured a number of major new contracts, so the timing of this appointment couldn't be better, particularly as we seek to reach an ambitious growth target of 20% for this division in 2016."
Mount Charles went straight to the number one spot as a new entry in the 2015 Foodservice Growth report, compiled by AlixPartners and EP, after achieving 32.5% compound annual growth from a turnover of £25.5m.
