MPs to be sent school meals today

MPs are to be provided with school lunches today as part of an initiative to highlight the quality of school catering.

Part of the build-up to LACA's National School Meals Week, delivery partner Gate Ventures will deliver hundreds of school meals to the House of Commons.

It will work with school meals providers from Tower Hamlets and Brent, including Chartwells, Eden Foodservice, Tower Hamlets School Catering Service, Cheshire West and Chester School Caterers, to prepare the meals which will then be delivered by Gate Ventures.

Tevin Tobun, managing director of Gate Ventures, said: "We are very happy to be invited to take part in this special lunch delivery. We appreciate the importance of highlighting the quality of school meals and are sure that the MPs will be very impressed with the freshly prepared, nutritious meals on offer. My hope is that this event will help to dispel the myth that school meals are still full of processed foods."

The Great School Lunch is part of the build-up to National School Meals Week(NSMW">, which will run from 4 - 8 November 2013.
