The Alliance Group NZ, a farmers' cooperative that supplies most of the UK's retail sector with New Zealand lamb has now launched in the UK under the brand Pure South, on a mission to bring consistent, perfectly aged, grass-fed lamb to the UK foodservice sector.
Pure South has a wide range of lamb, beef and venison products that can be delivered chilled, frozen, or sous vide and all the produce is fully traceable, free range, grass-fed, and aged; for, what the company say, is guaranteed tenderness all year round.
Chef-proprietor Simon Hulstone, who chose Pure South to supply the lamb for The Elephant pop-up recently at the John Lewis rooftop garden in London, said: "At the Elephant, we use produce from our farm wherever we can. But we also want to be known for using the best. That's why we used Pure South for the pop-up."
Graham Bougen, director of foodservice, Alliance Group NZ, commented: "New Zealand lamb is famous the world over for its quality. For years, we've been providing global retailers and cash and carries with a consistent, year-round supply of lamb that's best in season, and farmed and processed to the highest global standards. And now, we can provide that same top-quality product and delivery in foodservice."
Popular Pure South products include: lamb: leg steaks, diced leg, chump steaks, loin, tenderloin, rack, shoulder steaks, cutlets, neck fillets and for venison: leg steaks, striploin, short loin, and rack.
