Nick Nairn to open Aberdeen cookery school

Celebrity chef Nick Nairn is to open a new cookery school in Aberdeen.

Nairn, who already has a school in Port of Menteith, Stirling, will create 10 jobs when he opens the school in Back Wynd next year.

As well as all-day cooking experiences, the school will feature quick-cook classes for those short of time.

Nairn chose Abderdeen for the £500,000 project when he realised that a ‘disproportionate' number of people from the North East were enrolling at his Stirling school.

"I'm very excited about it as we have been trying to do this since 2007," he said. "The North East is a farming community and some of the finest produce comes from here. Also, there's an affluence in Aberdeen through oil, which allows people time to enjoy their hobbies."
