Nominations invited for list of most powerful Scottish operators

Caterer and Hotelkeeper is launching a new power list to complement its top 100, which was unveiled last week.

The Hot Scots Power 40, run in association with the organisers of ScotHot, the premier exhibition for Scottish hospitality and tourism which celebrates its 40th anniversary next March, will highlight the 40 movers and shakers who are having the biggest impact on Scottish hospitality and tourism, or flying the flag for Scotland further afield.

Like the Caterer and Hotelkeeper 100, the definitive list of the people we believe are the most powerful in the UK hospitality industry, the Hot Scots Power 40 will cover all sectors of the industry - hoteliers, restaurateurs, contract caterers, pub operators and chefs. Candidates have to meet the following qualifying criteria: be Scottish by birth, or be an honorary Scot (a personality who is mainly based in Scotland, and whose power and influence is felt in the Scottish hospitality and tourism industry).

Each nomination will be judged on five criteria - scale and scope; power and influence; financial success; innovation; and longevity - by a panel of industry experts and Caterer journalists who specialise in those sectors. If you think you should be on the list, or would like to nominate someone else in the industry who you think should be considered, please nominate them today.

To nominate, just email us a name and their company details - if they're powerful enough to be in the running, we'll know who they are - but if you wish, each suggestion can also be accompanied by a potted biography and achievements (up to 200 words).

Nominations should reach Emily Manson at emilymanson@hotmail.com by 18 December.

The Hot Scots Power 40 will be revealed in 22 February edition of Caterer and Hotelkeeper.

• ScotHot will take place at the SECC Glasgow from 4-6 March. For further details and to register to attend, visit www.scothot.co.uk.
